I made this for my granddaughters 3rd birthday. A great little pattern whereby the caterpillar crawls through all of the food. I found it was a bit of a squeeze for the little caterpillar, so I made a tiny one by knitting I cord and adding finger knitted legs and feelers together with french knit eyes 👀 I altered bits of food the cheese, cherry pie and watermelon by Kitchener stitching cast off to hide joins adding pips to watermelon, icing and sprinkles to cup cake ow yes French knot egg on leaf! 🧁 I am glad to have finished as it was hot, hot, hot here ☀️(21 pieces altogether)

They are great, a lot of fiddly work!! But worth it 😂 Sure your granddaughter will love them., The caterpillars have quite a feast there ! 😂

Gosh what a lot of work, but always a great story sack, sure Pearl had a great time playing! I do like the idea of having holes in the food, which must add another play value to them (sure you had a go!!) Tempted to make this up using this pattern - I did make a story sack for the local playgroup, but it took ages to find all the patterns! 😀🐛🦋

Goodness Maria these must have taken you ages. What a clever pattern! And what a lot of techniques you had to use/invent! I’m not surprised you were pleased to finish it. I didn’t do any knitting while it was so hot. 👏🏻🥰💕
