The tall and short of it is, once you’ve mastered your single and double crochet, you may fancy exploring a crochet stitch that can reach greater heights! The treble crochet (abbreviated as tr) is your next stitch to master.
Tall and lofty, the treble (tr) crochet stitch is created using a double yarn over when you begin, which will produce four loops on your crochet hook. Pull your yarn through two loops at a time, three times to complete your stitch.

What is the treble crochet stitch?
The treble crochet stitch is one stitch taller than a double crochet. Because it’s a taller stitch, it has a more dexterous and agile quality that can be molded into all kinds of pretty shapes and designs, from crocheted flowers to statement lace garments. It looks fabulous in summer shawls, beach bags and accessories.
