My friend is a big Batgirl fan and her daughter was being christened so I made a Batgirl for a christening present. I used the Knitables Girl pattern for the toy and plaitted sections of her hair which I sewed it in place to secure it. I then adapted their Superhero costume. I made it all black (obviously) then appliquéd the bat logo on the front and added a yellow utility belt. The gloves were taken from the Knitables Fireman's outfit. I knitted a small triangle which I rolled into a cone shape for the spikes. The mask I took from their Skeleton costume. To create the 'bat ears' I knitted a triangle, folded it in half for strength and sewed them onto the sides. For the cape I knitted a set of triangles then connected them together at the bottom for a spiked edge. All worked really well I think.
