With a cable pattern that is simple, yet full of graceful movement, this cozy shawl is knit from the bottom up. Decreases worked on both sides make the knitting go faster until only one stitch remains!
YARN: Sportweight (shown in Malabrigo Arroyo - Kris, 2 skeins) - also suitable for fingering weight, gradients, and variegated yarns. 510-550 yards.
SKILL LEVEL: Advanced beginner. Techniques include cable cast on, decreases, and cables.
CONSTRUCTION: Shawl is worked from the bottom up, beginning with a cable cast on. Garter stitch and cables at the hem create a slightly scalloped edge. Centered double decreases are worked along the spine on the right side rows, and single decreases are worked along the edges on all rows, producing an elongated triangular shape.
GAUGE: 22 sts/34 rows = 4" in stockinette, blocked.
