Winter Troll Hat

This Winter Troll hat is designed for the whole family, from pixies to orcs. It comes in all human sizes, and instructions to make one for an 18 inch doll. Patterns for matching scarf and mittens are also available.

This pattern started life as a request from my niece for a 'Troll hat' -but I was unhappy with the ornamental designs available which were not practical as a warm winter hat on a cold walk to school. So after several messages back and forth to confirm what a decerning young lady considered the essential features of a 'troll hat', I designed a hat with a pattern of chain stitches running up the outside using a Jacobs Ladder stitch in an appropriate colour scheme, with some flower decorations, and a chain tuft at the top. And then created scarf and mittens in the same stitch to match.
