Winter Blossoms Hat

During the long dark months when a hat is needed to keep out the cold, it is nice to wear a little color, some winter blossoms to brighten your world. The Winter Blossoms Hat uses Camano, a single ply yarn from Jorstad Artisan Yarns that dyes yarn in bright, jaunty colors, just the thing for this hat!

Winter Blossoms is knit using a main color for the body of the hat and a contrasting, handpainted yarn for the colorwork. A full skein should be purchased for the main color (220 yds/201m) in the yarn used), but a half skein should suffice for the contrast color. The yarn used for this pattern is a single ply which results in a softer finished fabric.

While a crochet hook is called out as part of the equipment required, the hook is only used to pull the yarn that will be used for the braid through. If you have a viable alternative and choose not to use a crochet hook, by all means, go for it!
