Wild Bird

Wild Bird has an unusual garter stitch shape with graphic inserts for a dramatic effect. The beauty of this pattern is that you can make it with any weight of yarn, from light fingering to super bulky. It’s also a beautiful way to use your precious scraps, while using different colors for each insert.

Materials and tools Yarn : 2 skeins of Malabrigo Merino Worsted (100% merino) 210yd/192m to 100g/3.5oz in MC 1 skein of Malabrigo Merino Worsted in CC 1 4.5mm (US 7) circular needle 40 inch long 1 stitch marker tapestry needle Techniques and skills involved Intarsia twists, stripes, short rows. Pattern difficulty : intermediate Dimensions for this project can vary a lot. Here are the dimensions for my sample, worked in worsted weight with a total of 8 pattern repeats. Width : 15 inches to the widest point Length : 80 inches Gauge Not critical for this project, but it will affect the size of the finished object.
