Product Description
This is a intermediate pattern and uses a 24 peg 3/8" gauge but any 24 peg loom will work to make this pattern. It uses short rows, some join as you go, and sewing as some of your harder techniques. I provide a beginning to end video tutorial to help with those areas. There is also simplified written instructions where you do more sewing and less join as you go. I provide a small section saying what size yarn will work with what gauge in the 24 peg loom and a general amount of yardage you will need. Please feel free to contact me if you run into any questions and I will be glad to assist you.
Unicorn Knit Toy by Scarlett Royale
What Is Being Made
This is a downloadable knitting pattern for a stuffed unicorn toy designed by independent designer Scarlett Royale. The project creates a three-dimensional amigurumi-style toy suitable for intermediate knitters. The finished unicorn features a body, legs, horn, and facial details including embroidered or attached eyes.
Craft and Techniques
This pattern uses peg loom knitting, a form of loom knitting that differs from traditional hand knitting. The project is worked on a 24-peg loom, which allows crafters to create fabric by wrapping yarn around pegs and manipulating loops. The designer provides a video tutorial to guide knitters through the construction process, particularly for techniques like creating legs and a horn without requiring additional sewing.
The pattern employs short rows (indicated by parentheses in the instructions) to create shaping and dimension in the toy. Knitters have the option to follow the video method, which integrates leg and horn construction into the knitting process itself, or to follow the written pattern and sew these pieces on afterward.
