Suddenly, baby news: We are going to be grandparents! And this time, it will be different. When you have children, 24 hours in a day don’t seem to be enough. But our grandchild will profit heavily from grandma’s favourite hobby.Let’s start with the basics: a super soft blanket and a cuddly unicorn. Those are, as far as I’ve heard, all the rage with little girls. The right combination of colours is very impor­tant: white fur for the unicorn and light pastel colours (pastel pink, light blue, mint green and yellow) for its tail and mane. I bought these colours for the unicorn and the blanket. On the blanket, they make up a happy rainbow pattern when knitted in regular rows. For maximum cuddliness I have used Chenille yarn that can be washed at 40 °C (which is very important!).
