Trees and Diamonds

I knitted this hat for the November 2019 KDD "it's on your heid" knitalong. It is made from small quantities of KDD Buachaille yarn from stash. This yarn is discontinued, but it would work in any DK/8ply weight yarn and would be good for using up odds and ends. I like rainbows and sunsets so I have made what could be either of these. I enjoyed playing about with all the different patterns I could fit into a 9 by 9 stitch diamond. I think this would work well in monochrome also. It will fit an average size adult head. The original hat was knitted in rainbow colours and then I made a "monochrome" version but I couldn't resist adding little bits of colour to the rib. At the time there was snow outside and everything was shades of grey, but if you look carefully there is always some colour in the berries on the bushes, the dead beech leaves, the moss on the fence.
