The sizes shown can be made using double knitting (DK, light worsted weight, Category 3) yarn, or choose a different weight yarn and an appropriate hook to make pumpkins the size of your choice.
The pattern is very easy to approach, fully-illustrated with step-by-step colour photos and contains lots of tips and advice. Also comes with my full e-mail support if you have any questions at all.
