I don't like a tight beanie on my head - this design allows for a looser fit and is therefore very comfortable to wear. The other beauty of this design is that a 10year old can wear it (it's slouchy) and so can I with a medium adult head. The unisex design makes it very versatile. After a few months of making other people's beanie and hat patterns, I created this 'EasyFit' design. It uses all of the knowledge I had collected, with my own spin. The ‘EasyFit’ Beanie doesn’t comply with ‘normal’ beanie construction – for a good percentage of the time, it is likely to look like it won’t fit your intended wearer. Stay with it – this pattern has been tested and tested and it does eventually work out. You'll need 1-1 ½ standard balls (100m) of your thread.DK weight (8ply) yarns work best, and they work up really quickly, too.
