What is Being Made

This downloadable knitting pattern from Not Just Nanas Knit features a coordinating hat and cowl set inspired by Superdry branded mittens. The designer created these matching accessories using a combination of chunky and DK weight yarns to achieve a distinctive multi-colored striped design with geometric patterning.

Techniques Used

The pattern employs fundamental knitting techniques suitable for intermediate-level crafters. The construction begins with ribbed edging to create a fitted, elastic finish at the brim. The main body uses stockinette stitch (alternating knit and purl rows) as the base structure, with color work techniques layered throughout. Materials

Black wool is doubled up by knitting two 50g balls together for added depth. Pink yarn is created by combining two different DK weight yarns: 50g of Sirdar Snuggly 3ply (shade 0302) and 100g of Stylecraft Special DK (shade 1832), knitted together to achieve the desired color and texture.
