Stella

Stella is a semi-circular shawl with a modular-knit border. Most of it is simple garter. The star band is worked first, and then the rest of the shawl is knit-on from picked up stitches.

You need to be familiar with short rows, in-the-round knitting, and decreases&increases.

Gauge: With fingering-weight yarn and 3mm needles, one star measures 12-13cm across. Preblocked, the shawl wass 160 X 60cm. After blocking it stretched to 180 X 70cm. The garter gauge was approx 22sts by 28rows unstretched, preblocked. It stretched to almost 20X20 in 10cm after blocking.
