Star socks

Star socks are ideal for beginners to sock knitting. These socks are knitted seamlessly from the top-down. You start with a ribbed cuff, then relax while working the leg in stocking stitch. Then, you make the heel by knitting a rectangular heel flap and work a few rows to turn the heel. Next you pick up stitches along the sides of the heel flap, then knit the gusset and the rest of the foot in stocking stitch. Finally you work a star toe; there's no Kitchener stitch or grafting involve, so this toe is really simple.
