Crackers - a British Christmas custom:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_cracker
Each year, I look at the mound of torn paper and foil on my dining table from our Christmas crackers and feel guilty about such ostentatious waste.
ButterflyLove's squeaky Christmas crackers are designed to be used and re-used each year and increase the fun as, instead of a one-time-only 'BANG!", your guests can squeak their way through Christmas dinner as much as they like. Perfect for your kids' table!
You can also knit them up as Christmas tree decorations and stocking stuffers.
The ButterflyLove Squeaky Christmas Cracker pdf knitting pattern gives you clear step by step instructions and handy hints along the way. It is suitable for a beginner/intermediate knitter.
You can also contact me at any point if you need technical advice or have any other queries.
