These mittens are offered in two sizes: small and medium, with wrist circumferences of 6.5 inches (16.25 cm) and 7.5 inches (18.75 cm) respectively. The mittens are crafted as a complete accessory project suitable for knitters seeking an intermediate-level challenge.

Knitting Techniques and Construction

These mittens are constructed using the Magic Loop method or double-pointed needles (DPNs), allowing for seamless, in-the-round knitting. This technique eliminates the need for seaming and creates a smooth, professional finish ideal for fitted hand wear. The pattern employs Stockinette stitch as the primary stitch structure, which produces a smooth, classic fabric with a refined appearance suitable for luxury yarn.

The construction begins with a ribbed cuff at the wrist and continues through the hand and thumb sections. This premium fiber combination provides warmth, softness, and breathability—ideal for mittens worn in close contact with skin.

One full skein of Plucky Bello contains 105 grams and 380 yards (347 meters), providing ample yardage for the project with yarn to spare. Knitters may substitute any fingering weight yarn that knits to the specified gauge.

Needles and Tools

Construction requires US 1.5 (2.5 mm) circular needles measuring 16 inches (40 cm) in length, sized appropriately for Magic Loop knitting or compatible with DPN work. Additional tools include two stitch markers for tracking pattern sections, a stitch holder or scrap yarn for managing thumb stitches during construction, and a tapestry needle for weaving in yarn ends after completion.

Gauge and Fit
