Knitting Techniques and Stitches

This pattern employs twisted ribbing as its signature design element, a technique that creates visual interest while remaining accessible to beginner knitters. The twisted ribbing is worked using fundamental knitting stitches adapted with slight modifications to create the twisted effect.

  • K (Knit) – The foundational knit stitch used throughout the pattern
  • K1 tbl (Knit 1 through the back of the loop) – A modified knit stitch that creates the twisted appearance characteristic of this pattern set
  • P (Purl) – The purl stitch, used in combination with knit stitches to create ribbed texture
  • K2tog (Knit 2 stitches together) – A basic decrease stitch for shaping
  • M1l (Make one, left leaning) – An increase stitch that leans to the left
  • M1r (Make one, right leaning) – An increase stitch that leans to the right
  • Pm (Place marker) – Used to mark sections of the pattern
  • Sm (Slip marker) – Used to move markers as you work

The pattern is worked in the round, utilizing circular knitting techniques that allow for seamless construction of these tubular accessories.
