Product Description
My original little ripple pouch was made in yellow and pink, and reminds me of pink lemonade, but I wanted a design I could share for Halloween that would also make a great candy bag!
These are perfect to stuff with candy to use as favors for a Halloween party, or to hand out to the sweet little trick or treaters.
Alternatively, it makes a great soap cozy as well. You could even make a Halloween themed soap to include in it as a gift!

Ripple Soap Cozy, Candy Pouch or Small Gift Bag
What is Being Made
The Ripple Soap Cozy, Candy Pouch or Small Gift Bag is a versatile crocheted accessory designed by Alexandra EyeLoveKnots. This project serves multiple purposes: it functions as a protective soap cozy, a decorative candy pouch, or a small gift bag suitable for various occasions. The design is particularly well-suited for Halloween-themed applications, making it ideal for filling with candy and treats for trick-or-treaters or party favors. The ripple pattern creates an attractive visual design that can be customized with different color combinations, such as the original yellow and pink colorway that evokes pink lemonade aesthetics.
Techniques Used
This intermediate-level crochet project employs the ripple stitch technique as its primary construction method. The ripple pattern creates a distinctive wave-like texture across the fabric, achieved through strategic increases and decreases in the crochet stitches. This technique is a classic approach in crochet design that produces both visual interest and structural integrity suitable for holding items like soap bars, candy, or small gifts.
Stitches Used
While the specific stitch abbreviations are not fully detailed in the provided pattern excerpt, the ripple technique typically utilizes fundamental crochet stitches combined in a rhythmic pattern to create the characteristic undulating waves. The intermediate difficulty level indicates that crafters should have foundational crochet knowledge before beginning this project.
Materials
- Yarn Weight: Worsted weight yarn is used for this project, providing a medium-weight fabric suitable for creating a durable pouch or cozy
- Tools: A crochet hook appropriate for worsted weight yarn is required to complete this pattern
