This is a pdf crochet pattern for a hippo toy 8-10cm tall (depending on yarn used)
It's worked almost entirely in the round and you will need to know sc, invisible decreasing and slip stitch. I've included plenty of pictures to help with any tricky bits and would suggest the pattern is more suitable for intermediate crocheters.
You will need:
A yarn of your choosing (probably less slightly less than one ball) and the smallest hook that works with it.
Drops Big Merino (aran/worsted weightish) with a 2.5mm hook is nice to use (middle hippo above) or try any DK/8ply yarn with a 1.5 to 1.75mm hook or a chunky yarn and 3.5mm to 4mm hook
5mm or 9mm safety eyes or black thread and needle
A few handfuls of stuffing
