Designed for beginner knitters and easier and quicker to knit than a scarf, this is a very simple pattern to get started with knitting. Including illustrated 'how to' instructions, the design introduces the basics of knitting: casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch, and casting off- with no fiddly changing colours as the self-striping FairIsle wool does all the hard work for you.
You will need: A ball of self-striping yarn- we recommend King Cole Drifter Chunky in shade 2159 Jakarta (stripy purples) or 2150 Auckland (stripy oranges), 3mm or 4mm straight knitting needles depending on preference, stuffing, darning needle, sewing needle, cotton, felt and 4mm pearl beads OR white felt for the eyes.
Flump measures approx 16cm tall by 16cm wide when completed. Flumps are indolent, lazy creatures so prefer to lie down, but are happy to lean against something to stand up!
