Product Description
You should know the basic stiches: chain stitch, single crochet, slip stitch, double crochet. All the other sticthes used in the pattern are explained. This pattern is written in standard American terms and includes lot of photos of the process.
In the pattern, I have worked all stripes with mustard yellow and brown (white cardi the pictures), but if you prefer to work each the stripes with different colors (beige cardi), you only need 50g ball of each color (here 3 different colors). The stripes can be worked also with leftover yarn. The length is adjustable.
In the pattern I worked the stripes with same color. If you prefer to work the stripes with 3 different colors, you only need 50g ball of each color. Main Color 1> 1000(1200,1400) m / 1100(1310,1540) yds, Color 2> 160(200,250) m / 175(220,275) yds Color 3> 80(100,130) m /90(110,142) yds.
I am happy to help if, you have any problems with the pattern or you have any questions!

Pippi Cardigan by Elina Vaananen
What is Being Made
The Pippi Cardigan is a crochet cardigan designed by Elina Vaananen and published by Capitana Uncino. This is a wearable garment featuring a multi-color construction with a primary color, secondary accent color, and tertiary detail color. The cardigan is available in multiple sizes with graduated yardage requirements to accommodate different fit preferences.
Craft and Techniques
This pattern is worked using crochet techniques throughout. The design employs a color-work approach, incorporating three distinct yarn colors to create visual interest and pattern definition. The multi-color construction requires managing yarn changes and color transitions during the crochet process, making this an intermediate-level project suitable for crocheters with foundational skills and experience working with multiple colors.
Yarn and Materials
The Pippi Cardigan is designed for DK weight yarn (also referred to as light worsted weight). The pattern features three color options:
- Color 1 (Main Color): 500–700 grams (18–25 ounces / 1000–1400 meters / 1100–1540 yards) depending on size
- Color 2 (Accent Color): 100–150 grams (3.5–5.3 ounces / 160–250 meters / 175–275 yards) depending on size
- Color 3 (Detail Color): 50–100 grams (1.75–3.5 ounces / 80–130 meters / 90–142 yards) depending on size
The cardigan pictured in the pattern was created using Silke Peo 30, a yarn composed of 100% merino fiber. Alternative yarn suggestions compatible with this pattern include Paintbox Yarns Simply DK, King Cole Pricewise DK, Debbie Bliss Rialto DK, and Willow & Lark Ra, all of which are appropriate DK weight options.
