Pieris Shawl

Pieris features a beautiful stitch pattern inspired by butterflies delicately flying away from flower to flower. I used a yarn by A Pleines Mains, a French yarn dyer using natural dyes. This yarn base comes from local sheep from the Pyrenees region, it gives a lot of lightness to the shawl with a lovely rustic touch. The shawl has a crescent shape worked with yarn over increases and a garter stitch border. It is made of lace and texture pannels alternating with stockinette stitch.

YARNA Pleines Mains Ariégeoise Fingering (Fingering: 100% Wool; 427 yards (390 m) / 100 grams): Cachou+Lac, 2 skeins The yardage used is about 850 yards / 775 meters.

NEEDLESUS 4 / 3.5 mm circular needle with a 30’’ / 80 cm minimum cable length, or size to obtain gauge
