Welcome to The Velvet Acorn, here you will find purely original pattern designs in knit and crochet. Inspired and crafted with my love of nature and the outdoors in mind. I always aim for comfort, warmth and versatility, timeless pieces that layer well and go with everything. I always create trying to pay close attention to detail, making every pattern design unique and filled with love and personality all their own.
The Verge sweater is designed with a positive ease of approx. 1.5-3 inches. Circumference is measured with sweater folded flat on a table at chest.
Note: Pictured is size 5/6 with a positive ease of 2 inches on a 6 year old.
The sample was made with Loops & Threads Cozy Wool. A suggested substitue yarn is shown below.

Good service all round
A very easy knit and grows fast! The instructions, particularly when it came to the sleeves, were a little confusing, but no real problem for an experienced knitter.
Delightful packaging...lovingly received
Pattern could be a little clearer as some instructions could be in a better order. BUT I’ve made 4 of these this week and it’s a beautiful knit.
