Winter is coming! No, I’m not quoting Game Of Thrones – I must be one of the 5% of people who has never watched GoT! (I apologise) For us here in the West of Ireland, Winter means Draughts… Drafts? (Tomarto/Tomayto, right?)
The traditional snake-type draft excluder doesn’t work for us. The door is opened, the snake gets left behind, the wind rushes in seeking its prey. It’s time to find a different solution!
I’ve made a couple of these No-Draft-Tees and they last around 2 years.
The No-Draft-Tee is made with #6 super bulky yarn. Were YOU lucky enough to score on the recent T-Shirt Yarn sale that swept the US? Sadly, living in Ireland, I wasn’t, so I have used Bernat Blanket Brights for the tubes and DMC Natura XL Cotton for the base. If you don’t have any #6 yarns to hand, you can substitute 2 strands of #4 Cotton for the base and 3 strands of #4 Worsted for the tubes. The base is best made with 100% cotton yarn for durability.
