Product Description
Formerly "White Gansey", renamed "Newhaven" in Knitting Ganseys: Revised and Updated (2018). This is a traditional, horizontally patterned
gansey with underarm gussets and neck gussets. An easier gansey to knit. It is knitted from the cast on to the underarm in the round. Once the gussets are completed, the work is split for flat knitting up to the shoulder, The shoulders are joined with strap gussets with short rows. The three-ndl BO closes the shoulders with wrong sides tog showing a ridge long the shoulder. The sleeves are picked up and knitted to the cuff. and then the neckband is done in the round as well.
