Product Description

This simple stranded colourwork hat is worked with 3 contrast colours against one background colour. This beanie is also known as the Hamlet Hat on Ravelry, but as it was designed as the perfect pattern for first-time Fair Isle knitters, it has been renamed for Love Crafts and Etsy. The stranded technique looks more complicated than it actually is. You will find only two colours used per row. The two yarns are carried together for the whole round. The pattern includes a simple colourwork chart that is read from the bottom right-hand corner.

Finished Size: 53cm (21”) circumference to fit small/medium adult

Yarn: 200m of 10-ply/worsted-weight yarn for main colour (this includes enough for an optional pom pom) 10m for each contrast colour.

Sample used: Fibre Company Cumbria Worsted (now discontinued)

Needles: 3.75mm 40cm circular needles for ribbing; 4.50mm 40cm and 80cm circular needles for stocking stitch
