The graph print is too small, you cannot see the number of stitches between puffs. The alternative is to look at it on a device or print the 40+pages of the actual graph. I tried to enlarge and print it out, but still cannot make it large enough to read. I love working with graphs. I have worked several of them. I do not like this one and don’t know if I will purchase another from this seller.

Mr & Mrs Crochet Blanket by Gleeful Crocheting
What is Being Made
The Mr & Mrs pattern is a one-piece crochet blanket designed by Gleeful Crocheting. This is a complete throw blanket project worked from a charted graph pattern, eliminating the need for complex written instructions. The blanket is constructed as a single continuous piece rather than assembled from multiple components.
Craft and Primary Technique
This project uses crochet as the primary construction method. The blanket is worked flat in rows following a visual chart system, making it accessible for beginners while producing a textured, visually interesting finished piece. The chart-based approach allows crafters of all experience levels to follow the pattern by reading boxes rather than deciphering complex abbreviations.
Stitches Used
The Mr & Mrs blanket employs two primary crochet stitches:
- Single Crochet (sc): Represented by white boxes on the chart, single crochet stitches form the foundation of the blanket. Every odd-numbered row consists entirely of single crochet stitches, creating a stable, dense fabric base.
- Popcorn Stitch: Shown as colored or black boxes on the chart, popcorn stitches appear exclusively on even-numbered rows. The popcorn stitch is worked by placing four single crochets into one stitch, then closing them together to create a dimensional, textured bobble effect. This stitch is worked with the wrong side facing, and the popcorn formation appears on the right side of the fabric, creating visual interest and dimension.
Pattern Structure and Reading Instructions
The pattern uses a charted graph format with specific visual indicators. White boxes represent single crochet stitches on odd rows, while colored or black boxes indicate popcorn stitches on even rows. Red or shaded boxes mark overlapping areas where printed pages should be taped together, allowing the full blanket chart to be assembled from multiple printed sheets.
The pattern accommodates both right-handed and left-handed crocheters. Right-handed crafters read and follow the chart from left to right across each row, while left-handed crafters read from right to left. All rows begin with a chain-one stitch to turn, though this turning chain is not indicated on the chart itself.
Materials and Yarn Weight
The Mr & Mrs blanket is compatible with multiple yarn weights, offering flexibility in finished size and drape. Suitable yarn weights include 4-ply, DK (double knit), Aran, and Worsted weight yarns. The choice of yarn weight will affect the final dimensions and density of the blanket; lighter weights produce a more delicate drape while heavier weights create a denser, more substantial throw. A crochet hook appropriate to the selected yarn weight is required, with hook size determined by the yarn manufacturer's recommendations.
Difficulty Level
Rated as a beginner project, the Mr & Mrs blanket is designed to be accessible to crocheters new to the craft. The use of only two basic stitches—single crochet and popcorn stitch—keeps the pattern straightforward, while the charted format eliminates the need to interpret complex written instructions. The popcorn stitch, though slightly more involved than single crochet, is clearly explained in the pattern instructions, making it achievable for those building foundational crochet skills.
Getting Started
To begin the Mr & Mrs blanket, create an initial chain in your chosen color (as indicated by the left-hand border of the chart). The first row worked will be a single crochet row, starting at the bottom of the assembled chart. From this foundation, continue following the chart row by row, alternating between single crochet rows (odd rows) and popcorn stitch rows (even rows) until the blanket reaches its full dimensions.
