Moonshine is a versatile, feminine cardigan featuring a simple lace repeat which appears fluid when worked in a large panel. These waves of lace are subtly echoed in a slip stitch border along the front edges, which might be my favorite detail of the whole design. Worked in a delicate sport weight wool this cardigan is perfect for layering in cool or warm weather. As always, top down construction makes for a stress-free knit and the lace repeat is easy to memorize. Instructions are included in the pattern for altering either width or length to make this flattering for your shape. As written, there is 4" of ease through the bust, and the width in the lace portion is brought in a bit for a body skimming shape. Sleeves are fitted for a flattering silhouette and buttons can be placed wherever you like. The sample is pictured in Imperial Yarns, Tracie Too in the colour Rain. Alternative yarns are suggested but always check your gauge for a good match.
Moonshine is a delicate silvery blue cardigan designed by Thea Colman of BabyCocktails. This garment features a fluid lace panel that creates a wave-like visual effect when worked in the larger scale. The cardigan is crafted in a sport weight yarn, making it an ideal layering piece suitable for both winter and spring seasons. The design incorporates subtle slip stitch details along the inside edges of the button bands that echo the undulating quality of the lace pattern.
Moonshine is knit from the top down, eliminating the need for seaming. This construction approach simplifies the finishing process and allows for easier customization of length and fit. The top-down method also provides flexibility for trying on the garment as you work.
The cardigan features an easy-to-memorize lace repeat that forms the focal point of the design. The lace pattern is straightforward enough for intermediate knitters to work without constant pattern reference, yet creates an elegant, flowing aesthetic. The slip stitch detail running along the button band edges provides a complementary textural element that subtly reinforces the wave-like movement of the main lace panel.
Yarn: Imperial Yarns Tracie Too in the colorway Rain. This yarn comes in 395-yard skeins. Yardage requirements range from 1300 yards for the smallest size up to 2300 yards for the largest size, requiring between 4 and 6 skeins depending on the finished garment size.
Needles: US #5 (3.75mm) needles are required. The pattern calls for long circular needles for working the main cardigan body and collar, with double-pointed needles or short circular needles for the sleeves.
Moonshine is rated as an intermediate knitting project. While the lace pattern is easy to memorize, the combination of lace work, top-down construction, and shaping requires solid foundational knitting skills and comfort with reading patterns.

there are no abbreviations listed on the pattern. I am an experienced knitter and had to google one of the abbreviations. Would be helpful if the total number of stitches were given at the end of the increases.. I just started the sweater 2 days ago and these are the only problems I have so far.
No problem with quality of the yarn.
The pattern is a little confusing in places... takes a while to figure out...
