Mittens! includes the base mitten pattern (both in worsted and heavy worsted/ Aran weight) for both full & fingerless mitts. It includes the Ocotillo, Manzanita and Quercus cuffs. Directions for the cuffs are both written & charted. These patterns allow you to sample various techniques without investing a lot of time or materials; the resulting mitts are great for yourself or for gifts. Interested in trying some Bavarian twisted stitches? Take a look at MANZANITA. Aran lace? QUERCUS is for you. Mistake ribbing? OCOTILLO! These mitts are great for stash busting: use different yarns for the cuff and the body. Use a solid or semisolid yarn for the cuffs, to show off the pattern, and a subtly variegated yarn for the body of the mitt. Or use a yarn that will show good stitch definition for the cuff, and a yarn with a bit of halo for the rest. Knit the cuff first. Pick up the stitches for body along the cuff edge. The main body is worked in simple stocking with an offset thumb gusset.
