Mermaid Scales Slouch Light is the fingering-weight version of the Mermaid Scales Slouch Hat. The Mermaid Scales pattern is easy to learn and fun to work. And it brings out the beauty of your yarn wonderfully! The pattern includes 5 sizes, from child through adult XL.
Difficulty: Advanced beginner. It begins with not-your-average ribbing for a little interest and great fit - but still using just knit and purl stitches. The Mermaid Scales stitch is not hard to learn and it is easy to memorize.
Yarn selection: You will need approximately 175 (200, 250, 275, 300) yards sock/ fingering weight yarn. This hat looks great with a solid or tonal yarn, a gradient, or a gently variegated yarn. And if you have a special skein of sparkly yarn, you will love how this hat brings out the sparkles!
