Product Description
The Mer sweater was inspired by my mother and was originally designed for her. As a woman who seeks elegance, simplicity, classic style, and of course soft things, I tried to bring all these elements into one design. The cables are inspired by waves and mimic their smooth, twisting motions. ‘Mer’ means ‘ocean’ in French, and also sounds a lot like ‘mere’ which means ‘mother’ in French. This fitted pullover with waist shaping uses a strand of alpaca and mohair yarn throughout the entire design. It feels like wearing a cloud, and is so soft and relaxing to knit.
This garment is knit top down starting with the turtleneck, and is knit seamlessly in the round. It’s a raglan-style construction, and is suitable for a knitter who can knit in the round, increase, decrease, and make cable crosses. Short rows are utilized and are written out row-by-row.
