Maidencombe

Maidencombe is an easy, comfortable summer top, knit in beautifully soft recycled cotton yarn and using reverse garter stitch in the round for a quirky 'broken stripe' look.

The top is worked from the bottom up with a two-piece bottom edge, worked in the round up to the armholes, then split and worked flat to the shoulders which are seamed together. Stitches are then picked up round the armholes and worked back and forth for an armhole cuff with a split at the top for decoration as well as ease.

The pattern is sized for 32-44" chest with 6" positive ease. Lengths are: 17¾ (19, 19, 19, 20¼, 20¼, 21½) inches. The body is a boxy shape with drop shoulders and an armhole trim designed to stop any armhole gaping. The trim is worked in garter stitch with a split at the shoulder seam to relieve any tightness. This also mirrors the split in the bottom trim.
