This is one of my favourites and could easily become one of yours. I think it speaks for it'self.
It has rings of a cross-over stitch which does require long needles but I have also made suggestions for a couple of simpler alternatives. e.g. eyelets to thread through ribbon or you could even use Knit-in lace

Does what it says
I am in the process of making the shawl, substituting the cross over stitches, just couldn’t get them right. Beautiful shawl, and no fiddly seam to match up. The amount of stitches as it grows would maybe put some off, but it is really worth the effort.
