Product Description
These mittens are inspired by the amazing Latvian mitten tradition. They are worked in worsted weight for a quicker knit and include the following traditional techniques: a Scalloped Cuff, Knitted Fringe, The Herringbone Braid, The Afterthought Thumb, Traditional Tip Shaping, working with two and three (optional) yarns. The cuffs are made with 2 different types of half-braids that accentuate the scalloped cuff. An alternate chart is shown in case you would like to work some of the motifs in three colors. There are four color ways. Also included are sections on the history of Latvian mittens, a glossary, and a reading list for further study, as well as charts.
