Kitchen Tile Octagon

This octagonal tile is worked in the round using interlocking crochet techniques. It is double-sided with the colors reversed on the back side. It is also double the thickness of a regular crochet tile and can be worked into a cozy blanket. This project is ideal for intermediate and advanced crocheters who love colorwork but hate weaving in ends, since each octagon is made with two continuous lengths of yarn.

Materials: Yarn A: Paintbox Cotton DK Vanilla Cream x1 ball Yarn B: Paintbox Cotton DK Royal Blue x1 ball 4.5mm hook This tile can be worked with any yarn. I suggest using a crochet hook 0.5mm larger than the yarn calls for.

Gauge: After round 15, the work should measure 6.25 inches in diameter using a 4.5mm hook and DK yarn. The completed octagon measures 10.25 inches across from edge to edge. Notes: This pattern uses US terminology.
