Product Description
These symmetrical socks use biased fabric courtesy of a chevron stitch pattern to create a cozy fit. This stitch pattern plays well with all types of yarn—solid, semisolid, variegated, or self-striping—and has just enough interest to elevate it from a plain-vanilla sock.
For most people, a 100 g skein of sock yarn will be enough to complete a pair. Those with very wide and/or very long feet, however, may need more than 100 g. The chevron stitch pattern creates a biased fabric with less stretch than stockinette, so choose a size to knit corresponding to your (or your recipient’s) foot circumference rather than the stitch count.
To knit this pattern, you need to know how to:
- work small circumferences in the round,
- work in knit and purl flat and in the round,
- work a centered double decrease,
- pick up stitches along an edge,
- work basic decreases (k2tog, ssk, p2tog), and
- graft live stitches.
This pattern has been professionally tech edited and test knit.
