Justice Scarf

Justice is the sixth installment of my A Single Candle series. Justice means, as Thomas Jefferson reminded us, “All the tranquility, happiness & security of mankind rest on justice, on the obligation to respect the rights of others.”

This scarf can be worked in either a cotton/linen blend DK weight yarn (in blue) or a wool DK weight yarn (in red). This is a budget-friendly project using less than a full skein.

It’s worked from end to end, beginning with an I-cord cast-on, increases and then decreases along one edge, then an applied join to end. You can make it longer by working more repeats of the center section. Each 20-row repeat of 43 stitches uses about 30 yds (27.5 m) of yarn, so if you’re adding extra length, make sure to account for that in your yarn purchase.

Measurements: 42 1/4" (107.5 cm) long x 6 1/2" (16.5 cm) wide for the blue scarf, and 45 1/4" (115 cm) long x 6 3/4" (17 cm) wide for the red scarf. This scarf is perfect for anyone and would look great in any color!
