Heartbroken beanie hat

I was inspired to design this warm winter hat by all the people and organisations who care for children when they need it.

I’ve chosen a double-stranded, washable and affordable, double-knit yarn for this super easy hat, to give a "super chunky" gauge. You could use any yarn you like if it meets the gauge. The hat has a simple contrasting stitch heart on the front and back. The hat is knitted flat and visibly seamed, with one heart on the seam. The hat is designed to wordlessly communicate a “bad hair day”. Some people don’t like to talk about their feelings or just can't express their emotions. If you feel a bit like you need some kindness you can communicate that by wearing the seam at the front.
