NOTE: The rectangular bowl may be stiffened as either a rectangular or oval shaped bowl.
Materials required: Either bowl: approx 50g (309 yards/285 metres) No 10 or No 12 crochet cotton, 1.50 mm crochet hook. For starching requirements see pattern.
Gauge: Rectangular bowl: 4 rows of tr US dc = 1-inch/2.5 cm, 10 tr (US dc) = 1-inch/2.5 cm Round bowl: Rounds 1-3 measures 1¼-inches/3 cm diameter.
Finished size (although this depends on the size and shape of the bowl you use as a mould when stiffening, a rough guide to size is given below): Rectangular/Oval bowl: 6-inches/15 cm wide by 10-inches/25 cm long, 2½-inches/6 cm deep Round bowl: 9½-inches/24 cm diameter, 2-inches/5 cm deep
