Fljót

Fljót means river in Icelandic and when you think of a river, you imagine the water flowing, shifting and changing direction. Life is just like a river, it changes, twists and turns as you grow; from its source until it reaches its journeys end meeting the ocean.

This simple shawl pattern has been designed to allow you time to practice mindfulness as you knit: to relax and not stress about life’s journey.

It’s a one skein project that would be perfect for those pretties in your stash that you just don’t know what to make with; and you will never run out of yarn as you work the increase until you have half of your skein left.

Yarn  Shown in Townhouse Yarns Fade St 4-ply ‘Troi’, (70% Superwash Merino, 30% Silk; 100 grams; 400 metres/437 yards). Pattern uses one full skein.

Needles  4 mm needles, either straight or circular as preferred.

Gauge  24 sts to 28 rows per 10 cm. 

Finished Measurements  34 inches wide by 14 inches depth.
