Product Description
Inspired by the use of white marble, jali-latticed screens & onion domes in the Taj Mahal, this shawl is a perfect mix of simplicity and a bit of lace heaven. The top & sides of the shawl depict an onion shaped dome & the centre is a hexagonal jali design which makes the shawl light and drapey. The jali hexagon is made in white with a gold background which enhances the jali and gives it a lovely texture - imagine the sun filtering through the jali work.
This shawl is launched in collaboration with 7 other talented Indian designers as part of the Indian Designers’ Collaboration (InDesCo) Edition 3 whose theme was the Taj Mahal - its art, architecture, and symbolism.
Yarn Used: I have used fingering weight in 2 colours: MC : 750 m / 920 yds : White CC : 190 m / 208 yds : Gold
My testers have created gorgeous versions of the Eshgh Shawl in single colour, contrast colours, similar shades of MC & CC as well as in a single variegated yarn. All versions, equally gorgeous.
