This adorable patchwork Elephant is knitted with oddments of DK yarn, 7 colours using approx 20g each OR it could be made all in 1 colour.. The elephant has been knitted on size 3.00mm needles as I prefer a tighter knit when stuffing but could be made using either 3.50 or 4mm needles which would make it a bit bigger. Height approx 9" (23cms) from feet to head.

The pattern calls for DK weight yarn in seven distinct colors. The original pattern was created using Stylecraft Style DK yarn with the following color requirements: 20 grams each of Blue, Green, White, Red, Navy, Lilac, and Salmon. Knitters will need 3.00 mm knitting needles. The designer recommends 3.00 mm needles for achieving a tighter knit that provides better structure when the toy is stuffed. Using larger needles will result in a larger finished toy, allowing crafters to customize the final size according to preference.
This pattern is rated as intermediate difficulty, making it suitable for knitters who have mastered basic knitting techniques and are ready to tackle more complex projects involving shaping, color work, and toy assembly.
