Choose a zippy brimless hat or a traditional watch cap with a brim (both styles included on this one pattern). Either way you'll end up with a impressive and great-looking hat.
This pattern also includes optional instructions for cabling without a cable needle.

Yarn: 125 (150, 150) yards of heavy worsted weight (Aran weight) yarn
Needles: Size 8 (16" circular and double-pointed needles) or size required to get gauge

Gauge: 18 sts/4" (4.5 sts/1") in stockinette stitch
