Eara

Eara-hat is worked in the round from the brim up. The pattern has both written and charted instructions.

Finished measurements

Brim finished circumference non stretched 37.5, 41.25, 45 cm/ 14 ¾, 16 ¼, 17 ¾ inches.  Body finished circumference 47, 51.5, 57 cm/ 18.5, 20 ¼, 22.5 inches.  Height approximately 18.5, 21, 23.5 cm/7 ¼, 8 ¼, 9 ¼ inches.

Yarn  50 -70 g of fingering weight yarn, app. 211 m (231 yds) per 50 g. The sample hat, size 132 sts was knitted with KnitPicks Palette, (100% Wool), 211 m/231 yds per 50 g and used 45 g.

Needles & notions

2.75 mm/ US 2 and 3.25 mm/ US 3 (80 cm/ 32 inches or longer for magic loop) circular needle, or set of four DPNs.  markers, tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Gauge

32 sts x 48 rows = 10x10 cm/ 4x4 inches with smaller needles in k1, p1 ribbing stitch after blocking, not stretched

28 sts x 48 rows = 10x10 cm/ 4x4 inches with bigger needles in pattern after moderate blocking (stretched width wise)
