Dunloe

This slouchy hat has a simple elegance that will complement just about any style perfectly. It has a 6 strand braid with ribbing at each end giving the illusion that the strands are woven into the hat.

I used Dream in Color Smooshy with cashmere for the sample hat, but any fingering weight yarn should work nicely. I suggest a solid or semi-solid so the braided cable doesn't get lost in your yarn.

In general cables tend to shine with a lighter color yarn so they are more noticeable, this is not specific to this particular pattern, just a general observation.

If you would like your hat to be slouchier, or if you have a large head you can size up the body of the hat by using a size 3 needle.

I have had some feedback that the "small" size really fits average sized heads nicely as well and the average may be more appropriately called a large. One tester said knitting
