My husband is forever trying to name my things. Hand-dyed yarn that I’m knitting with, designs I’m working on… Usually, his suggestions are a bit goofy, and I just laugh them off. He like cars and trucks and things that go, so it wasn’t surprising that he christened these socks “Diamond Tread,” like the grippy material used on semi-truck steps and other industrial surfaces. But, you know, it totally makes sense, and the pattern does look like Diamond Tread, so, Stefan, these are for you.

What Is Being Made
Diamond Tread Socks are a pair of fingering-weight knitted socks designed for adults in three finished sizes: small (7½" foot circumference), medium (8" foot circumference), and large (8½" foot circumference). The leg length measures 7" from the top of the heel and is customizable to individual preference. This advanced beginner project combines functional sock construction with decorative lace patterning.
