Crochet Fantine Prayer Shawl Pattern

This French Directoire Era inspired Shawl/Wrap is very easy and beginner friendly. I was inspired to crochet this beautiful item looking at engravings and shawls from the Directoire Era, as well as when I was reading my favorite book from the 19th Century. This pattern is part of my Vintage Crochet Series, and is very typical of the French Directoire Era, where delicate designs and long slim lines were in fashion.

This is a very simple shawl, which can be crocheted with any DK/light 3 yarn that you prefer. I used Rico Creative Degrade for this project, as well as a size 4.5 mm crochet hook.

This easy project can be crocheted in the space of a week-end, and makes a perfect present.
