I absolutely adored making this pattern for a friend's birthday present as she loves axolotl's. I made it in double-knit cotton. This pattern is perfect for children and even to make key-rings for friends and family as well. With this pattern if you are wanting to make it bigger you could use chunky cotton or even normal double-knit acrylic yarn with a size 4.00mm or 4.50mm crochet hook, all depending on your tension.
