Celie

Named Celie, of Greenlandic decent, is this oversized long dress with dropped shoulders and vents. A check pattern covers the dress to give it texture except for the sides which has a stripe of stockinette stitch. Celie is worked in the round on the middle part and then back and forth again on the shoulders, for the armholes. The sleeves are worked top down. The dress ends in a double collar, crowned by an I-cord the check pattern low collar rises. Celie is knitted in the airy Ask by Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk.

Gauge: 22 sts and 30 rows in st st using 3.5 mm/US 4 needle measures 10 cm square after blocking.

Notes: The dress is worked from the bottom up in two pieces to the end of the vents, then joined and worked in the round to the sleeve opening. The remaining is worked back and forth to the shoulders. Only the shoulders are seamed together to give the dress a bit of structure.
